Electronic ID card

  • What data does NN collect by reading my eID?

We only collect general information to be able to identify you officially. No data from your private life or medical data.

Specifically, this means: your name, national register number, gender, date of birth, nationality, place of birth, current address, number of your eID, start and end date of your eID.

  • I will soon be acquiring a new identity card. Should I send you a new copy, or have my data read out again?

No, that is not necessary. One-time identification is sufficient.

  • What will you do with the data on my ID card?

We will store your identity card in your customer file. When your card is scanned, your address information will be compared to the information in our database. If there are any differences, we will update these in our database.

  • Why must I send a copy of my identity card?

The anti-money laundering legislation of 18 September 2017 demands that all financial institutions are able to thoroughly identify their new and existing customers as based on an official identity document. Moreover, NN considers the protection of your private life and combating fraud as highly important. In order to prevent your personal details, or the capital which you are entitled to, from being transferred to unauthorised parties, we put a great deal of attention into the identification of our correspondents.
