NN Omni Care - Family

NN Omni Care - Family

In addition to the deep sorrow and grief it creates, a death can also often bring financial worries with it, too. Your family has to cope with a smaller income, while the fixed day-to-day living costs for the surviving partner remain just as high as before. NN’s Omni Care death insurance protects your surviving dependants against the financial impact of your death.

How does it work?

  • You yourself determine the capital amount you want to insure, the period of your cover and the beneficiaries.
  • You choose the capital amount based on your specific situation: your income, the current and future needs of your partner and family, the age of your children – and so on. Discuss the details with your broker to see what suits your situation best.
  • Your beneficiaries receive the capital amount insured if you die as the result of illness or accident before the end date of the policy.

Omni Care is a Branch 21 death cover insurance policy, under Belgian law.
The capital insured is either constant or reducing (it cannot be increased). At the start of the policy it is a minimum of 25,000 euro and may be a maximum of 2,499,999 euro. The minimum term of the policy is 5 years.

Omni Care aims to provide protection for natural persons, depending on their specific situation: their income, the current and future needs of their partner and family, the age of their children and so on.  The beneficiaries receive the capital insured if the natural person dies as the result of illness or accident before the maturity date of the policy.

For more details, see the Financial Information Sheet

Who is it for?

Omni Care is aimed at natural persons, where the age of the person insured at the time of taking out the policy is between 18 and 67. Omni Care provides cover against the financial consequences of the person's death or that of a third party to supplement social security and for the financial protection of the person's surviving heirs.

If the policy is for a natural person, the minimum age at the time of taking out the policy is 18.

Who is it not for?

This product is not suitable for natural persons and legal entities wishing to insure themselves against the financial consequences of a death when there is a link with a mortgage loan. Or when they want to cover themselves against the financial consequences of receiving a direct personal gift ('handgift') or a gift received via a bank transfer between accounts ('bankgift'), more specifically against inheritance tax for their surviving dependants following their death.

  • Option for extra capital in the event of accidental death
Provide an additional financial safety net in the event of unexpected death caused by an accident. If you select this option and you die as the result of an accident, then your surviving dependants will receive an extra amount in addition to the capital amount from Omni Care. This means you are giving them greater security.
  • There are various plans available for paying premiums
    • Optimal (standard): we optimise the period of the premium payment.
    • Relax: this unique plan allows you to spread the premium over the whole term of the policy, with a minimum insured capital sum
    • Budget: gear the premium payment to the annual premium you want to pay.
    • Classic: you pay the premium for 2/3 of the term of the policy.

Possible payment types for the premium:

  • Purchase price (you pay the full premium in one go)
  • Fixed premium (you spread the payment over time; the premium remains constant)
  • Risk premiums (the premium changes with your age)

In terms of frequency, you can opt for monthly payments by direct debit, or annually by direct debt or transfer.
